Adding devices from device discovery¶
Device discovery finds IPv4 addresses that respond to ping. A device with blocked ICMP may be reachable but still not be found. In this case, create it manually.
Open Device discovery.
Click + Network range, or Add network range if the list is empty.
Complete the following fields.

Input and meaning |
|---|---|
Label |
Name of the range, for example |
IPv4 network or address range |
A CIDR network such as |
Repeat scan automatically |
Manual only, Every 15 minutes, Hourly, Every 6 hours, Daily or Weekly |
Click Save range. If automatic searching is enabled, the first search starts as soon as the range is saved.
For a manual search, click Start scan for the range.
Check progress and the number of devices found. Cancel search stops a search in progress.
In Discovered devices, select the new discoveries you want to add.
Click Add as devices (…).
Under Devices, open Configure for each added device and save the checks you want.
The search selection is retained when switching pages. The checkbox in the table header applies to new discoveries on the visible page. Devices already added are checked and cannot be added again here. The filters Search device or address, Not applied yet and Already added help with large result sets.
Use a network range’s action menu to select Edit range or Delete range. Deleting a range does not remove devices already created. Automatic searches do not add new devices on their own: new discoveries are initially made available for selection.
