Purpose and access

Open Notifications in the left navigation. Here you define which devices trigger notifications and whether these are sent by email, to the Qisutu ticket system, or through both channels. The configuration applies to monitoring as a whole; there is no separate recipient configuration per device or check type.

A change in the state of a monitored check can trigger a problem notification, a change to the problem or a recovery notification. An unchanged problem is not sent again during subsequent checks. For example: A TCP check fails. Once its failure threshold is reached, a problem is reported. Further failed checks do not generate an additional notification for the same unchanged state. Once the check succeeds again, a recovery notification is sent.

Notifications apply to configured Service checks, Resource checks and Additional checks. For resources and additional checks, the state of the respective check is used. A resource check covering CPU, RAM and filesystems therefore does not create independently configurable notification channels for each individual value. The notification contains information about the abnormal check or its readings.
