AWS CloudWatch¶
AWS CloudWatch discovers CloudWatch measurement series in a namespace and reads current values. The required read permissions are cloudwatch:ListMetrics and cloudwatch:GetMetricData.

The actual endpoint is determined from the region as monitoring.<region>.amazonaws.com on port 443. The check looks for current values from the last 15 minutes with a CloudWatch period of 60 seconds. The result row includes the CloudWatch timestamp. For more than 200 matching series, the name or dimensions must be narrowed down. AWS connectivity and permissions, as well as correct server time, are required.
