Microsoft SQL Server

Microsoft SQL Server uses ODBC, usually on port 1433.

  1. Add the check and enter Username, Password and Database name; the default database is master.

  2. Check ODBC driver, default ODBC Driver 18 for SQL Server.

  3. If necessary, open Microsoft SQL Server requirements. The querying Linux system requires python3-pyodbc and Microsoft ODBC Driver 18.

  4. Optionally add a Custom SELECT query (optional).

  5. Test and save.

The standard queries read sessions, waiting requests, database sizes and selected performance counters. Statistics views that cannot be read are displayed with a note about the appropriate permissions, for example VIEW SERVER STATE or VIEW SERVER PERFORMANCE STATE. The connection uses TLS with certificate validation.

A custom query must be a single read-only SELECT query without comments, multiple statements or SELECT INTO. It may return at most 1.000 rows. Numeric columns are imported as readings. Appropriate database read permissions remain a prerequisite.
