Configure detected interfaces individually¶
Enable Network interfaces and switch ports and save the configuration.
Wait for a successful query and open the configuration again.
Expand Configure detected interfaces individually.
If necessary, search under Find interface.
Set Monitor, Connection expected and, if applicable, Speed (Mbit/s) for each interface.
Click Save all.
Monitor enables or pauses the individual interface. Connection expected should only be enabled for ports that are supposed to remain connected. Without this expectation, an unused port therefore does not generate a connection error. Setting Speed (Mbit/s) to 0 uses the device’s value; a custom speed helps when the device does not provide a reliable speed.
Monitor visible and Pause visible change the interfaces visible in the current table view. You must then save. Interfaces and available sensors are detected again with every query.
Rates require two matching measurements. Immediately after the first query, after a pause, a restart or a counter reset, values may initially be Pending. No rate is invented from missing counter data or data that cannot be interpreted unambiguously.
The following defaults are available under Thresholds for the new measurements:
Area |
Warning |
Critical |
|---|---|---|
Interface utilization (%) |
80 |
95 |
Errors / discarded packets per second |
1 |
100 |
Disk busy time (%) |
80 |
95 |
Temperature (°C, if the device provides no threshold) |
70 |
85 |
Temperature thresholds supplied by the hardware device are used where available; your own temperature thresholds serve as a fallback.
