Requirements and operating model

Qisutu Monitoring Version 1.x is installed on a Linux server. The program provides its own HTTPS web interface and stores configuration, user accounts and measurement data locally in SQLite. Docker, Apache, an additional web server and a separate database server are not required for operation. The Tornado Python web server library and the interface files are included in the package.

The basic installation requires Python 3.9 or later with SQLite and SSL support, sha256sum, OpenSSL and ping. The installer can install missing packages through the Linux system’s package manager. Additional check types require suitable programs on the computer that runs the check:

Microsoft SQL Server	python3-pyodbc and Microsoft ODBC Driver 18 for SQL Server; the appropriate Microsoft package repository must be set up separately

For a remote data collector, these requirements apply to its Linux server. The central installer does not automatically install all programs on a remote data collector.

If all required system packages are available, installation and operation can take place without an Internet connection. In this case, select --skip-packages. The installer does not change any global firewall; the required connectivity between the browser, monitoring server and monitored systems must be available.
