Personal language and password

The gear icon at the bottom left opens My settings. When navigation is collapsed, you can access the user menu through the avatar. Select the desired interface language under Language and save. The selection belongs to the account and persists when you sign in again or use another browser.

German, English, French, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Czech and Turkish are available. Custom device names, descriptions and response text from monitored systems are not translated automatically.

Change password in personal settings leads to Settings → Protect your account. Enter Current password and New password, then select Change password. The new password must contain 12 to 256 characters; you must then sign in again. The change also ends this account’s existing sessions in other browsers.

A sign-in lasts at most twelve hours. Restarting the monitoring service also ends existing browser sessions. If the interface asks you to sign in again, do so.

Reset a forgotten password

An administrator with access to the Linux server can reset a password using the terminal. For admin:

sudo netzmonitor password

For another existing account:

sudo netzmonitor password BENUTZERNAME

The terminal prompts for the new password. This command does not require the old password and ends the affected account’s existing sessions.
