Select additional resource types¶
In the What should this device monitor? section, you can enable the following areas.
Selection/field |
Result and prerequisite |
|---|---|
CPU, memory and filesystems |
Basic measurements; enabled by default |
Network interfaces and switch ports |
Detected interfaces, connection state, received/sent data, utilization, errors and discarded packets |
Disk performance (Linux / SSH) |
Reads/writes, transfer rates, run times and busy time from Linux disk counters |
Hardware sensors and state |
Supported temperatures, fans, voltages and states; depends on hardware and access permissions |
SMART disk health (Linux / SSH) |
SMART values and overall health of supported disks; |
Monitor processes |
One exact process name per line; expects at least one running process with this name |
Monitor system services (Linux / SSH) |
One systemd service per line, for example |
Linux process names may be limited to 15 characters. Use the actual process name, not a command line. For system services, the .service suffix is added if missing. Systems without systemd cannot provide this service state query.
When SMART is selected, the interface displays setup instructions. On Debian/Ubuntu, installation on the monitored target server is:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install smartmontools
At least one resource type must be selected. Values not supplied by the target remain identifiable as missing or unknown.
