Certificate trust for additional checks

The standard validation confirms the certificate chain and server name. In Certificate trust, you can alternatively store a verified SHA-256 fingerprint for a custom or self-signed certificate.

  1. Click Retrieve certificate.

  2. Compare the displayed fingerprint with that of the target device.

  3. Click Use this fingerprint.

  4. Run Test connection and save.

When the certificate changes, the new fingerprint must be checked and confirmed again. Changes to the target, port or corresponding connection settings clear the old confirmation in the interface. Retrieving the certificate alone does not confirm it.
