Set up additional checks

  1. Open Devices → Configure → More checks.

  2. Under Additional checks → Check type, select the desired type.

  3. Click + Add check.

  4. Fill in Label, Destination address and Port, as well as the fields for the check type.

  5. Check Check rules: Interval (s) or Interval (seconds), Timeout (s) and Failure threshold.

  6. Click Test connection, Test printer data for printers, or Test reception for traffic.

  7. Check the returned readings and messages.

  8. Leave Active enabled and click Save all.

A test does not save any settings. Even a successful test may report individual readings that are abnormal. If necessary, a check can be saved even when the target is not currently providing data. It will then continue to be queried using its regular rules.

Additional checks can be configured multiple times per device. A maximum of 100 additional checks per device is possible. Common defaults are a 60-second interval and three failed attempts; printers are checked every 300 seconds by default, and certificates every 86.400 seconds. Additional checks support an interval of 15 to 86.400 seconds, an overall response timeout of 3 to 90 seconds, and 1 to 20 failed attempts.

Remove removes the row from the configuration that has not yet been saved. When you subsequently click Save all, an existing check is deleted together with its history. To suspend it temporarily, use Active.
