Automatic mode tries SNMPv2c and then SNMPv1 with the public community. No user account is required, but read access is unencrypted. Under Adjust access → Read community, you can enter a different read key configured on the printer. Other selectable access types are SNMPv2c, SNMPv1 · older devices and Encrypted · configured SNMPv3 access. For SNMPv3, users and secrets must first be configured on the printer.
Supply thresholds default to Warning if remaining supply ≤ (%) = 20 and Critical if remaining supply ≤ (%) = 5. Waste containers are evaluated in the opposite direction: warning at 80 percent and critical at 95 percent full. The standard query runs every five minutes.
Where supplied by the device, the check reads printer status, errors and messages, supplies, containers or trays, and counters. No printer data received does not prove that the printer has failed: Check the status query and access permissions on the printer, and whether a different read key is used. You can also save the check when no data is currently being supplied.
