Device or check provides no current values¶
First check Last check, the status and the specific message for the affected device. Then check the following in order:
Is the device activated and started?
Is the relevant check enabled and saved?
Is a configured dependency blocking it?
Is the destination address correct, and does the check use the right credentials?
For a remote device, is the correct data collector assigned and online?
Does the connection test with the same values show a specific error?
Does the interface or server diagnostics report a problem with the background service?
Symptom |
Check and remedy |
|---|---|
Device exists but is not monitored |
Enable an appropriate check in Configure and select Save all. |
Test succeeds, but no values appear later |
Check whether the tested values were actually saved and the check is enabled. |
No ping response |
Check the destination address and ICMP reachability. A target may offer other services even if it blocks ping. |
Overdue |
Check the last check, background service, server load and, if applicable, data collector. |
Some values are missing |
Check the target system, access permissions and supported readings; values not supplied are not interpreted as zero. |
SSH connection refused |
Check the port, user, private key and stored server key. |
SSH server key changed |
Verify the cause of the change on the target before retrieving and saving the current key again. |
SNMP connection failed |
Check the version, community or SNMPv3 user, protocols, port and allowed source address. |
Windows provides no values |
Check WinRM over HTTPS, credentials, certificate trust and authorization for the selected queries. |
HTTPS or certificate error |
Check the address, hostname, certificate chain, validity and configured trust. |
No network interface rate after setup |
Consecutive measurements are required to calculate counter differences. |
Unintended change to check target |
Check the device address and separately saved HTTP URLs. Changing the device address does not automatically update an independent web address. |
Changes are rejected |
