Set up Linux resources over SSH

The access configured under Resources and interfaces is shared by the selected resource types. The standard query reads CPU, memory and filesystem usage using existing Linux commands. No software is installed on the target for this purpose. The SSH account needs the corresponding read permissions; root privileges are not required for the basic measurements.

  1. Open Devices → Configure → Resources · Interfaces.

  2. Switch Resources and interfaces on under Active.

  3. Under Credentials, select Linux over SSH (default).

  4. Check the SSH port, usually 22, and enter the target server’s Username.

  5. Under Sign-in, select Password or Private SSH key.

  6. Depending on your selection, enter the SSH password or the complete Private SSH key. For an encrypted key, also use Key passphrase (if encrypted).

  7. Click Retrieve server key.

  8. Compare the displayed SSH fingerprint with the target server’s fingerprint.

  9. Enable Trust this server key.

  10. Select the required resource types and adjust the thresholds if necessary.

  11. Click Save all.

When editing, saved credentials are retained if the corresponding secret fields are left empty. A change to the target or server key requires trust to be confirmed again.
