Defaults for new service checks

Under Settings → Defaults, you define defaults for services created in future. Checks that are already configured retain their existing values.

Field	Default	Allowed range	Meaning
Check interval in seconds	30	5–86.400	Time between two scheduled checks.
Timeout in seconds	2	1–30	Time an individual service check waits for a response.
Failure after consecutive failed attempts	3	1–20	Number of consecutive failures before the down state.
Device discovery timeout in seconds	1	1–10	Wait time for ping-based device detection.

Save using Save settings. The device-specific configuration also contains Defaults for new checks; these likewise do not change existing entries retrospectively. To change existing checks on multiple devices at once, use bulk editing in the device list.
